A Soft Desert Editorial in Morongo Valley
This editorial was created right in my backyard in Morongo Valley — a place that feels quiet, expansive, and deeply personal to me. With desert hills stretching out in every direction and golden light settling in as the evening unfolded, this shoot was about slowing down and letting simplicity lead the design.
Rather than building something overly styled or grand, the goal was to create an intimate, lived-in feeling — like a private celebration unfolding naturally in the desert.
An Editorial Rooted in Ease & Texture
The design leaned into soft draping, natural movement, and a muted desert-inspired palette. Florals were airy and organic, designed to feel as though they belonged to the landscape rather than competing with it. The tablescape echoed that same feeling — simple, tactile, and intentionally imperfect.
Everything was styled to feel approachable and editorial — proof that meaningful, beautiful design doesn’t require a large venue or elaborate production. Sometimes the most compelling settings are the ones closest to home.
Evan & Jenn
Evan and Jenn brought such an effortless, grounded presence to the shoot. Their connection felt calm and natural — nothing forced, nothing overly posed.
Watching them move through the space made the editorial feel intimate and real — more like a quiet moment shared than a styled shoot being performed.
Creating at Home
There’s something especially meaningful about creating in your own space. Hosting this shoot in Morongo Valley reminded me that inspiration doesn’t always come from far-off destinations — sometimes it’s right outside your door.
This editorial is a reflection of my love for desert landscapes, intentional design, and storytelling that feels honest, personal, and quietly elevated.
